Every baby is truly a “bundle of joy.” But in this economy having another mouth to feed sometimes feels very stressful. Many people are worried about their jobs – and lots of parents can be afraid for the future. Fortunately if you prepare and are creative, you can often pay less for your baby’s needs.
Learn to connect with other parents and become friendly with those who have just had babies. They will have valuable words of wisdom about how to handle diaper rash and all of those other baby concerns. But they also may have a gently used crib that your baby can be sleeping in simply by asking if they will be using it again soon (often they won’t be using it within the next year). They’ll also be a great source for baby clothes that have been outgrown (and often barely worn) and even baby toys that have typically not been played with very much. These are wonderful finds for the financially strapped parent. Just remember the circle of giving and to pass these things along to another family when you are done with them.
Joining a warehouse club can be very valuable to buying many of your baby’s needs. You can buy formula, vitamins and baby’s diapers all in bulk and save lots of money. Best of all, you can also buy other things that the family needs at the very same time. Most warehouse clubs like Sam’s Club are very reasonable to join and welcome families and individuals.
Consignment shops are not just for adults — there are some wonderful shops for kids. This is an ideal spot to find beautiful baby clothing. It is also a great resource to SELL baby clothing that has been gently used or barely worn. Perhaps your mother in law bought baby clothes that just weren’t to your liking and you hung on to them to spare her feelings. Those clothes could be turned into cold, hard cash quite easily as some other mom would be happy to see them! A kid’s consignment shop would be a great find as your baby got bigger and moved into toddler sizes.
Don’t be afraid to ask for a discount if you are having trouble paying your bills. If you are seeing your baby’s doctor and are having trouble paying your bills, most doctors will give a discount when asked. The key is asking for the discount! Ask politely and quietly. You don’t have to give a big, “sob story” as many families are having a tough time right now and people understand.
Get wise to sites like Craigslist and Freecycle to get great baby things. People list things on Freecycle that they are just giving away for free. So a family getting rid of baby things would list everything they were giving away — and the first person to say they wanted things would claim them. But Freecycle is very democratic and you can’t just take, you need to be a giver too if you want to be part of the community. Craigslist also has a Barter section and a Free section — both are ideal for looking for items for you baby. What could you barter? Try bartering with a professional photographer for a holiday photo to go on your holiday cards — you could give them freshly cut firewood. Every trade needs to be win-win.

How Web Conferencing Works
Web conferencing is a service enabling a virtual online meeting between 2 or more people. The participants might all be in a single building or they could be spread thoughout the world, the restraints of location disappear by using the Internet to discuss, exchange and share resources. Also, through web-conferencing participants may be able to utilize a variety of tools including data and audio transfers, among other things.
Good web conferencing systems contain several features for maximum effectiveness. Below are listed tools and features that you may be able to make use of during a web meeting:
File sharing and application
File sharing is a critical feature of quality web conferencing solutions. By giving the control of his workstation to someone else, they will also be able to access files and take part in providing input even if they are in a remote location.
White Board
Whiteboards are the virtual incarnation of the traditional boardroom white board allowing anyone to draw, type text, alter colors and erase. Whiteboard access allows rapid brainstorming and solving of problems.
Polls and Surveys
This polls & surveys feature is very useful for feedback and responses. The survey results can be stored and archived for future reference.
Co-browsing of the internet
This feature can be quite useful in a customer service context, for example allowing clients to browse a corporate site, along with customer support. It can also be a useful method to present a sales presentation or showcase a product, among other things.
Slide Presentations
A classic tool of traditional conferences, slideshows allow viewing visual presentations & demonstrations and can be configured as a downloadable resource for future reference.
SMS
Along with audio and video capability, web conferencing may also enable a SMS text messaging service. This can be useful for documentation.

It can be difficult to keep track of your money! It may seem like you’re living paycheck to paycheck, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Here are some simple tips for you to manage your own household budget, and have money left to spare!
Put it on paper. To begin, if you’re going to follow a budget, you must have the budget written down. Use whatever method you’re comfortable with, whether that be a sheet of binder paper and a pen, an Excel spreadsheet, or a program such as Microsoft Money.
Manage your money. There are certain monthly bills that you know will be roughly the same amount. If you get paid twice a month, make two separate budget templates. For example, design one budget for bills due when you get paid on the 1st of the month, another budget for your 15th of the month paycheck. You may be able to divide up the budgets so that you have approximately the same amount of money being paid out for bills during the first and the second parts of the month. Helpful hint: If you have a lot of bills due during the first half of the month, a quick call to your creditors will usually allow for a due date change, to even out the time of the month that your bills are due.
Allow for an allowance. If you’re someone who finds themselves with an empty bank account soon after you get paid, consider an allowance for yourself. For example, every paycheck allow $50 to spend on you- whether you choose to buy clothing, movies or a dinner out with friends, this is YOUR money to spend without feeling guilty. Just make sure that you keep to your limit. If you consistently spend beyond your allowance, it’s not a beneficial practice.
Save, save, save! After you’ve paid all necessary bills, set an amount to be deposited to a savings account from every paycheck. Whether it’s $20 a month or $200, every little bit adds up and you never know when you’ll have an emergency and need to access this money. (Just remember, new shoes do not equal an emergency!
Make it visible. If you have a certain place in your home where you usually sit to pay bills, print out your budget and keep the most current one in front of you. As you pay a bill, mark it off as a physical reminder that the task is finished.
If you keep order to your household finances, you’ll soon find that the practice of budgeting and saving money is easy!
